In 2019 the Farnesina headquarters in Rome was transformed into a narrative surface through a video projection mapping intervention. The project, created within the Farnesina Digital Art Experience, brought digital art onto the facade of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, transforming institutional architecture into a story of light, culture and innovation.

/ Challenge
The concept arises from the dialogue between institutional architecture, digital art and contemporary cultural heritage. The challenge was to transform the Farnesina facade into a large urban screen, respecting the building’s geometry and building a visual narrative capable of representing Italian creativity, innovation and cultural diplomacy.

Digital art narrative
The project translates the identity of the Farnesina Digital Art Experience into abstract, luminous and dynamic visual sequences designed to dialogue with the monumental scale of the building.
Architectural dialogue
The facade is enhanced through geometry, color and movement, keeping the architectural structure legible and transforming it into a contemporary narrative support.
Cultural storytelling
The intervention builds a public narrative in which light becomes a tool of cultural communication, bringing digital art into institutional and urban space.

The mapping transformed the Farnesina into a digital stage, bringing together architectural language, animation and visual experimentation. The visual narrative connects art, technology and institution, offering a contemporary reading of the building and of the role of Italian culture in the world.

The architectural surface was digitally reconstructed and calibrated on the real facade to achieve perspective correspondence, volumetric precision and depth effects.
Large-scale projection
The projection was designed to cover the large surface of the Farnesina while maintaining readability, luminous intensity and visual impact on a monumental scale.
Sound & synchronization
The sound component accompanies the rhythmic development of the sequences, synchronizing movement, light and architecture into an immersive audiovisual experience.
